I have a history of self harm. Like Val said, it's a daily struggle. Came really close the other day after nearly a month, but was able deal with the situation in another way that gave me injury free satisfaction. I'm learning alternatives and it's helping.

I don't. It just hurts more than trying to deal with a situation. Leaves scares that are there for life, making you remember about the past.

I'm 19 and I struggle with self harm everyday and its the hardest thing ever to battle. I had stopped for an entire year and a half but then things happened that made me self harm again but I don't do it everyday like I used to.

I hate to admit it, but I do. I didn't really think about it at first. I struggle with EDNOS, and after I would "screw up" or even just do something stupid, I always wanted to scream and scratch, do anything to just punish myself. One day I found a safety pin I had been using for a school project...it's just gone down hill from there. I only started a few weeks ago, and I wish I hadn't. I hope we can all try to stay strong, together maybe we can stop.

I do, but instead of it being a daily thing that I need to do, it's a coping mechanism that I have resorted to when I feel things are getting too out of reach. Lately that's happening more.

I have sense 2nd grade. I would smash my head against the wall or hit my self with objects screaming that I wanted to die. When i was about 13 I started scratching cuts into my skin and beating my self bloody.
But I din't start cutting with blades until I was about 14, and when i was 16 i switched from the scissors to knives and razors.
I liked to slash violently and dig for veins to make them bleed but the blades go too deep too quick, found out the hard way with siccors and tore a jagged gaping hole in my wrist. It does worry me that I may go too deep by accident in a fit of anger and sever tendon or muccle ending my gymnastics carer. Guess I can forget about the veins I want to hit as the DR's that stitch me up always comment among them selves about how deep my veins are and how tough my tissue is. Must be I'm hard to kill.

I cover them with long sleeve leos in gym. No one asks.


I've went through some really bad stuff that started at a very young age and I got abused at home by my parents as well as others outside. I'm still home but we haven't gotten physical in a while now. Still verbally abused though. I think I am abnormally violent with my SH for a female, but its not so surprising given what my life was like I guess.

Im right there with you! Although my addiction started about a year ago, i wish to heaven and back that i never picked up the blade! Im sooo sorry to hear that you are in the same position! i dearly hope it gets better for you! But im sorry i cant say that it gets better fast, at least for me it didnt/ hasnt
