How exactly do you make a poll?

Maybe it's right in front of me and I'm not opening my eyes, but I need some help here.
I know that there's the "Yes, this is a poll" tick box thing at the bottom of the window where you want to make a thread, but when I tick it, nothing happens. When I preview my thread with typing in it, with the poll box ticked, I don't see anywhere where I am supposed to put the question and options for the poll.

Right. All I did was click on the "New Posts" tab on the top line to bring up the list. Then go to the Forums column on the right and choose which category you need eg "Puberty for Boys". Then the list comes up. Then on the top left you should see a "New Post" block tab. Click that. Then construct your question in the message box here. Hope this helps....

below the tick box, there is an option that says how many choices. click submit then the poll options come up
