My dear Potter-heads, we're going home.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-24067557

"JK Rowling is to make her screenwriting debut in a new Harry Potter-themed film series, Warner Bros has announced.

The first film of the series will be titled Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Warner Bros said the film series was part of an "expanded creative partnership" with the best-selling author.

The eight Harry Potter films are the largest-grossing film franchise in history.

"I always said that I would only revisit the wizarding world if I had an idea that I was really excited about and this is it.”

JK Rowling

The new film will feature Newt Scamander, the fictional author of the textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, owned by Harry Potter at Hogwarts school.

Warner Bros has given no indication as to when the film could go into production."

I'm crying.

I've been hearing stuff for ages, but then BBC was like, "Yeah, bitches."

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan but I guess I've been hiding in my cave under a rock too long because I've not heard anything about this. All I can say is now I have something to look forward to.

I just saw it a few hours ago and I was like "What?! How the hell did I not hear about this before?!"

I've seen the first 3 movies and loved them. Never read any of the books (personally, I dont like reading long books).

TBH you can't get the full experience or storyline from just watching the movies, if you don't like reading (which even for people who don't like reading it's still a worthy experience) you can listen to audiobooks.

Sounds great, something to look forward to!

I'm not into big books either, but absolutely could not put these books down. The books are much better than the movies because they have so much stuff in them you can't put into a movie.

I am a little worried. Spinoffs aren't usually good. But this is Harry Potter, what's the worst thing that'ts going to happen.

I heard about this earlier in the week. I'm beyond excited. And I don't get excited for movies.

I haven't read the book, but I'm way too excited for this. I read somewhere that they may include a young Dumbledore and Grindelwald.
