Its basically a spin-off of the Castlevania timeline where you now play as a fallen knight who became Dracula, it plays like Darksiders/God of War/Bayonetta/Castlevania Lament of Innocence, so while it has its freedoms it is definitely not free roam (nor should it be), but it is a challenging and long action/platforming game with a good story that most would enjoy.
