What's your opinion on E-Sports, which, if you didn't know, is competitive gaming competitions that are treated the same way as any other sport, and is only becoming more and more popular. Personally, I love it. I can't even imagine how awesome it'd be awesome to watch people battle it out on Battlefield on prime-time television.

When I went to EVO 2012 and played in the Colombian Halo 4 Championship I realized that playing and watching people playing a great videogame can be just as tense as watching a great football (or as you gringos call it soccer) match. It is great that gaming tournaments are considered sports.

I love e-Sports, although I wouldn't go so far as to progamers athletes. It's a competitive game such as chess, but not a sport, as it doesn't exert physically enough. Mentally, yes.

Slight bump?

I find e-sports to be very interesting. I've been interested since I found out about Halo 3 MLG back in 2009. I used to follow the pro circuit of Halo 3 like it was my job. I thought it'd be so cool to be that good and be able to play as a job. I started devoting a lot of my time to the game and watching the tournaments.

With Reach and ultimately Halo 4, the pro scene of Halo lost it's shine, as the game itself was no longer fun. I didn't follow e-sports for this time because of that, until my friend introduced me to League of Legends. Started off being a casual player finding the pro scene very boring. Before long though, the whole idea and gameplay became really interesting to me. I now watch streams, tournaments, read guides, spectate games of friends, and play almost anytime I have down time.

To me, e-sports are just as much of a sport as any other "traditional" sport. They meet the qualifications to be a sport, just because it's not ten guys running in a gym, doesn't make it any less competitive or mentally demanding.

The thing I love about them is that you can still compete competitively and treat it seriously, even if you have disabilities that restrict you from competing in physical sports, or even if you're just one of those people that just physically are not made to play sports. It brings people together, under the common goal: Pound those noobs to the ground :D

Not a fan. It's not as fun watching as it is playing. I much prefer watching physical sports; it's more primal. I think it'd be cooler to watch real gladiators duke it out on live television than watch a game of pros play LoL.

I think there will be a point that video games are as mentally and physically demanding than traditional sports, but I don't think it's fair to even say it's close right now. It definitely has its place, and I think it's great that it's gaining popularity, but I would hate for it to take over television time that could be used for showing physical sports.
