Flip flops? Fashion staple, or big flop?

In my honest opinion, I hate flip flops and sandals, they are a horrible fashion choice and are ugly! Not to mention anyone hardly keeps them on they just kick them off (which like a girl in heel's in my opinion is very gross as well). I just think they are not good in general. What's your opinion, Are they good or bad?

I like the Abercrombie & Fitch look of flip flops (like jeans and flip flops), but other than that I don't care.

I had these awesome flip flops that were so pretty and I LOVED. They were also the only shoes that fit me at the store lol. I can't find a picture online. Unfortunately a few days ago I left them in NYC :(

Wear them all the time except when I'm on the bus in case I have to stand up otherwise I'd slip around all over the place. >.< I don't often buy them though; my only good pair are men's.

I just hate socks so much. Except when I'm at home, then I like to wear them. o.O

I love flip flops! For some reason I love feeling the warm summer breeze between my toes. Plus they are comfortable, and they keep your feet from smelling, or gathering sock lint which is much more gross.

well I don't really have a need for them being as I live in the uk .When I do manage to get to the coast I just wear pumps .I find flip flops annoying and dangerous as there's no protection for your toes.

Here in Australia we actually call 'flip flops' thongs! They're great for just wearing up to the super market, to the beach or for walking around the house. They're practical footwear, but I wouldn't go so far to call them a fashion.
