Defense or forward? Soccer dudes

For a long time I have been playing soccer, like since 6 y.o I love soccer and I was always picked for the forward position, in this season tho, my new coach decided that I'm better as a defense I like it but he never gave me an explanation why he did it. What you think?

Second of all, some forwards get put as defenses so they can understand the behaviour of defenders better.

I usually go as defence because although I'm fast, I can run up if needed and I'm a pretty good tackler compared to my non existent skill

I play as a forward, because i'm way too small for defense.
