Does anyone know if they took the servers for the original modern warfare down? I can't seem to get on.

A friend of mine told me he couldn't play online of 360 either, not strange considering its consoles.

Well I loaded up modern warfare on PS3 and got access. So unless only the US servers are down, everything appears to be fine

worked for me last week for modern warfare and modernwarfare 2 on PS3. they might start to be taking them down with the new game coming out in a few months

When I try to get in all it says is downloading game settings. And it does that for hours and hours

And yes, the servers are gone. I have not been able to play it online for well over 2 years now. But if your laptop is less than a few years old you could play it on that and most likely get a decent fps, the pc mulitiplayer will still work i think

It could be the US servers the best to do would be to google and ask around on CoD related forums. I tried accessing the official MW forums but for some reason I can't access them....I think they've been removed...I would still ask around CoD related forum as I can still access the online.

I was just talking about this with my friends, and they told me that they're starting to shut down servers for the older games.

I play it on LAN at my school sometimes on PC and there are very few servers still open online. So they're still around.

That would greatly surprise me, as Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is still one the most played video games in the world.
