I'm going to high school in 5 days and I'd like some advice to avoid me jumping into oncoming traffic on the first day, thanks. :D

be yourself, have a BA attitude to the haters and enjoy life as a high schooler, and row with the flow

Good luck! I'm a sophomore this year, so while I don't have tons of experience at high school yet, I could probably still give you a few tips. One is if you can, get a map and plan out how to get to each class ahead of time. Try to avoid main routes and stair cases if possible. One of the things that surprised me when I started high school was just how crowded the halls were. You're going to get shoved around a bit, so don't be afraid to push back! That's my tip for avoiding hallway traffic. Oh, on a side note, be wary of all the couples making out in the nooks and crannies of the halls or in between lockers. My school's popular spot was the biology hallway.
Other than that, start the school year with confidence. High school is a time when you can real start to express yourself and find out who you are. Don't be afraid to try some clubs and meet different people. Have fun and good luck! :D

Build great study habits your first year (boring, I know). Be open and friendly to new people and you'll make friends easily. Don't block busy walkways, upper class men hate this. High school is gonna be as fun as you make it to be, so stay on top of your work for less stress later. I'm sure you'll enjoy high school :D

Stay away from the drama. Pick a few true, good friends, and just kind of tolerate everyone else. Don't get mixed up in other people's bullshit.

Don't stress about it too much. The biggest thing I noticed when I was a freshman was how tall everyone was and it kinda made me nervous but after a few days I was fine. That and figuring out the layout of the school.

Well I don't think you meant to bring it up literally, but the thing about jumping into on coming traffic is something you want to avoid :P----in the hallways. I'm serious. If there;s one thing that freshmen in my school need to learn how to do, it's walking with the flow of foot traffic instead of against it.
Another thing is to make sure to study. Middle School was just preparing you for the big leagues where it really does count. So yeah... Study, listen, don't tell the teacher to go fuck them selves, take good notes, and get there on time.
Oh, and don't listen to older kids that say they are going to pick on the freshmen. You might get picked on, yes; but not in like a horrible way. Oh, that brings up my next point. Stand up for your self. If some douchebag sophomore is acting like their hot shit and beating on you or your friends, stand up for yourself!
hope that helped. ;) :)

1. Do your homework, cause it counts for more and school is harder.
2. Stay away from where the seniors hang out.
3. Do not care at all about popularity. It matters less and less as you go through high school.

It's really not that scary, unless you live in the ghetto where homicides are a regular occurrence.
The key to success is doing the work. It is overwhelming and boring at times, but if you keep good grades, complete the assignments on time, and ask teachers for help when you need it, then you're going to be fine.
You will inevitably have a bad teacher. In that case, try not to piss them off, because they will try to make your life miserable in any way they can without getting fired for it(see "malicious compliance"). So try to stay out of their way, and -- if your school has them -- find a peer tutor or even form a study group with acquaintances and/or friends.
Freshman year is easy. Enjoy it as much as you can, and don't get too worked up about it.

Oh yeah, for my first year my school is all-freshman. Just thought I'd say that.

I think a lot of it just depends. The school's I've gone to have all been very cliquey, so if you don't fit in it's harder on you. If your school's not like that or you don't have trouble fitting in that's not a problem. The work being harder isn't a problem if you don't have trouble with school work. Etc. I don't think there's any way to give advice about this without knowing what your school is like.

I'm noticing that nobody's focus is actually the work
