View Full Version : I Give up, What is the point?

Atonement

Life has become a suffering trek of sleep, wake up, go to school, work, come home and sleep again... What is the point??? It is pointless! Life is horrible. Everything. I hate it. I hate all of it. What is the point? There is not one! I give up... The worst part is that my life style is considerably fantastic. Almost perfect family, straight A student, and pretty decent friends... but somehow, my life SUCKS!

Any history of depression?

Are you feeling depressed? Or something else?

What do you do in your spare time, if any?

Any history of depression? Not diagnosed

Are you feeling depressed? Or something else? A little, no more than usual

What do you do in your spare time, if any? I do not do much, but I am fine when I do do things...

If you find your life dull you could always take up a hobby. =)

Plop, NO life is worthless. We are all put here for a reason, whether there is something we need to teach others, or we have to be the "other" for someone to teach, or even both. Depression just makes it harder for you realize this. I've been in a similar position; hating life, hating myself, not even being sure why I kept going through the motions. It;s important to understand that there is help out there. You just have to find it. Sometimes that can be the hardest part, but once you get help, things start looking up. I wish you the best of luck. Just hang in there. :)

... I still give up. I do not believe I am depressed, but I am simply screwed over and I hate life. I give up, I find it highly doubtful that I will ever embrace life as you people describe it.

I used to think life is like a roller coaster. You know, with its ups and downs. Well, I think my roller coaster broke and I am stuck on the down track. Life just keeps falling and I am waiting for me to crash...

You know what giving up is? It's taking the easy way out. I respect your right to have whatever beliefs you want, but I believe in reincarnation. I believe that when we give up, we are reincarnated into the same situation, and that happens over and over until we get it right. If you get it right this time around, you get to experience something new, perhaps something much better, the next time around. And best of all, you'll keep all you've learned out of this experience, so if something else happens that makes you want to give up, you know exactly how to push through it. How can you pass that up?

And not to send you on a guilt trip, but when you give up you hurt those who care about you. Your friends and family, all of us here, we want to see you do well and be as happy as you can be. We want to support you through the bad times, and celebrate with you through the good. Please try to let us help you.

I know we didn't get to talk for long plop but I'd like to talk to you more if you'd like. Although I can't say I know what your going through this sounds a lot like what I felt like when I was having problems.
And look I got through it, and you can to and you can also feel happy again trust me, trust us.

You want to know what you can do, ask for help from a parent adult counselor or someone you trust.
They can get you to a Psychologist and he/she can help answer all your questions and get you through this.
Please hang in there, We're here for you

You say you feel as if you're stuck in a hole. Like a well? :( Can you think of anything specific that may have put you in this state of depression? or is this sadness coming on unprovoked? :) Everyone's here to support you man, don't worry. You're not going to be sad forever. But you should probably talk to a professional, they'll be able to help you. If it's a chemical imbalance, they'll be able to get you some treatment and hopefully with a clearer head you'll be able to deal easier with what's bothering you.

 Don't worry man, you can get through this. We're all here to back you up.
