Have you watched Miley Cyrus' VMA performance on MTV the other day? Well, did you puke?

Stalking the stage, mugging and twerking, paused to spank and simulate analingus upon the ass of a thickly set African-American backup dancer, sticking her tongue out all the time and all.

The performance was shocking to me. If that is what she calls being a grown up, I must say it is so wrong. What do you think? Obviously she is trying to be like Madonna but things didn't go as well as she might thought they would be.

Well it obviously worked out pretty well for her judging by the album sales and the Youtube views, she's the hottest artist in the world right now and whether you love her or hate her, everyone is talking about her.

I think the media blew it way out of proportion (as they do). It was a provocative (and also messy) performance, and its purpose was obviously to generate this kind of buzz. The fact that we're still talking about it like 2 months later proves that it worked.

Like her or not, it was a smart move.
