Where do you measure to determine girth? How do you properly measure size?

Do you measure the middle of your dick? The middle of my (girth wise) is exactly 5 inches.

Also, how do you properly measure dick size? Do you straighten out your dick if its curved? Mine curves down a bit, so I measure it by bending it straight. Then it's around 6.3-5 inches.

I read somewhere that you're supposed to use a piece of string to measure girth. You mark where the string ends come together with a marker and then you lay the string flat on a ruler to get your measurement. It's something that I haven't gotten around to trying.
