well if you like to have everything 'free' then regular boxers are good. And if you like to have things more put in place wear boxer briefs, or even seamless boxer briefs. Its really whatever is comfortable for you, i tried boxers but the seam bothered me and i found myself adjusting myself alot, so i switched and now im good. For some its the other way around.

I like to wear boxer-briefs now cause they are comfy and more (sounds weird) supportive. But as said before if you want to have something loose normal boxers is best

It is personal preference. Whatever feels best for you, wear it. Nobody is going to be staring at your underwear (hopefully).
