View Full Version : How to get with girls at a party

So I went to my first proper house party last night, and I told myself in the days running up to it that I was going to get with a girl. But during the party I didn't know what do to do, we stood around in groups and it was hard to get a girl on her own. And even if I was with a girl on my own I'd have no idea what to do at all

So how do you even do it? What are you supposed to say? People make it look so easy but it's not, I didn't even come close.

Start a convo. If you hit it off you're good.

That sounds like an assumption and not really one I'm very confident in. To me it could mean anything from "talk to a girl" to "fuck a girl" but "date" sounds like a very awkward way of looking at it. You don't go to a party to see if you can spontaneously date someone. Or maybe our definitions of "date" are very different.

You go to party to meet people and see where it goes from there.

Talk to her while she's getting something to drink.

haha yeah their isn't really any golden rule for a party- booze tends to work. I mean people don't really want to have deep in depth converations at a party so just comment on what their wearing or compliment them

You see parties vary a lot depending on what country you are in. In Colombia you dance at a party, if you are a good dancer and a girl accepts your invitation to dance you have a chance. In Mexico everyone's drunk so you'll probably find someone to make out with. I do not know how parties work in England, so I would say approach your target after doing some eye contact and try to start a conversation.

Smile, be fun, talk to her, try to find things in common

Smile and be friendly.
Drink is fine but avoid drunk. If you get drunk you might make an ass of yourself.
Also if by 'get with' you mean potentially have sex, drunk people aren't thinking about protection so not such a great idea.

alcohol definitely worrrks, and see if shes interested first, you have to be talking one on one and if shes smiling or playing with her hair or something thats a good sign. If her body language is closed off dont bother. If body language good, move a bit closer to her, and touch her a bit, put your hand on her waste!! and then if it's still looking good, move in for the kiss :*

walk up to a girl and tell her that you think she's cute and you'd like to get to know her more.

The best way to have a girl demonstrate interest in you is if you initiate a conversation with her. I certainly understand that it's difficult, particularly when a girl is in a group. If you have the confidence to approach a girl(s) then you should be okay.

I disagree with everyone saying use alcohol as a method to get a girl, that can lead to so many things that aren't okay. Sure, dutch courage is okay but don't use it as a means to actually ask someone out or whatever. If you can't do it mildly sober or even tipsy and it requires you being fully drunk, I don't think that's okay. What's wrong with starting a casual conversation or something like that? I know you're at a party but even then alcohol is never a good mix.
