As I'm sure you all gathered from the title, there's a certain girl I'm into. I really want to be in a relationship with her. She's shown signs of liking me (long hugs, kisses on the cheek, blah blah blah), but I'm not totally sure. The thing keeping me from doing this is our friendship. For any other girl i felt this way about, I would just straight up ask if they were interested in me, but i am worried that if she isn't, our friendship would be over and I really don't want to risk it. I agree. Friendships have been tarnished historically by entering a relationship and it ending badly, rather then just asking whether they are just interested. I mean, if she isn't, things may be a little awkward for a short time, but once some time passes, then things will be back to normal. What you need to do is weigh up how much you like her and whether to make a move, and only you can make that decision.

If she is legitimately a good friend, you confessing that you like her won't change anything if she doesn't like you back
