View Full Version : Amber Tides

A man I once knew
Lent away his unmemorable name and copper eyes.
Cradled by the adamantine arms of addiction and the wrinkled hands of time;
One amber drop multiplied until
Heavily he sank beneath the burning tides.

Once I knew a drowned man who
Lent me his copper eyes, and there has not been a day, from them, I did not cry.

I wanted to try something personal and different.
So tried an acrostic piece.

Lovely. I really like those kind of poems, interesting to see how the authors use each letter
