You should probably go with a car that fits in with what your friends drive.

but why should i lower my standards just to fit in. don't you think your car is a big part of your reputation ?
the car doesnt really stand out, but when you see it on the street people see that it is very different
this is the car ( with custom features ): http://www.autoweek.com/storyimage/CW/20130513/CARNEWS/130519937/AR/0/2013-Tesla-Model-S_1.jpg

You said you were concerned about looking stick up. If that's not really the problem then drive whatever.

I think you should be fine. It'll be a conversation piece among friends, but other than that it looks like an average car from the outside. As long as you treat it well, then friends or family members shouldn't have any reason to see you as stuck-up or snobbish.

if your first car is an expensive and high tech sports car, when most other teens don't even get their own car at 16, makes you look like a arrogant rich kid. i don't know you personally, but i'm just 'reading the book by the cover' if you will.

My God, the car is absolutely fabulous! You must be very lucky if you can afford one of those.
Anyway, I agree with Miles, you will create needless jealousity around you. A car is only a car, start with something more humble and then buy it when you have a more stable career in the future.

People are always going to be jealous over things that they can't have. I honestly don't think you should be too concerned, as long as you take good care of the car, maintain good grades (things that justify you being allowed to drive it), and appreciate being able to afford it. Often, kids will be handed things and will act snobbish in addition to having them, but because you're aware of what kind of reactions you'd get for it and you're worried, I think you'd be mature enough to handle it and not have that kind of snobbish attitude.
I don't see why you shouldn't be able to enjoy it, if you want it and are offered it. This is just a perk that you are lucky to have and although people will knock you down for it, it's life. It's bound to happen whether it's an expensive car, an expensive house, whatever.

Fuck 'em. Drive your fancy car and love every second of it. Just treat it right, or I'll personally kick your ass. (:

Don't give a fuck what they think and drive your vehicle. If they think you're stuck up, just look over your sunglasses and drive away :P

You haven't told us anything about your friends and family to know what they would think so... who knows? If your family can afford the car why would your family think anything weird about it? If your friends are in the same socio-economic class why would they think anything weird about it?

I'd like to think you would have to act snobbish first to be considered snobbish. As far as impressions go though, I'll be completely honest, it depends heavily on who goes to your school (mainly poor or rich?). For instance if someone at my school showed up with a car like that while most other kids here have shitty, cheap, used first cars or (like me) come from families who can't afford one, I can almost guarantee the first thing that pops into others' heads is "rich spoiled kid." But, honestly, who gives a fuck what they think? Just drive your nice ass car dude.

Damn, you damn americans are waaaay to concerned what other ppl think of you and 'fitting in'.. some is rich some is poor, thats the way the system works, cant be that hard to understand for people, maby your in a rich (maby snob) family but you didnt even choose that, so if ppl judge you on that they aint worth it.. Your putting on dirty ghetto ass clothes to?
Shit man, if I were you i wouldnt give a fuck about my poor friends, i would sit at a bar like a baws picking up hot girls :)

Drive whatever you want, you shouldn't care about what other people think and be glad that you can afford such a nice car, cause most humans alive can't.
