Written or Oral Exam?

Would you rather take a written exam, where you write down your answers, or an oral exam, where you have to speak in front of people?


I hate talking, let alone in front of people, so I'd definitely prefer written.....

To me it depends, I love public speaking and all that, but then again, I would only prefer an Oral Exam if I really knew what I was talking about. It's harder to bullshit your way through that kind than a Written Exam.

In oral exams the judgment might be affected by other thngs than just your answers.

I love speaking in front of anyone, bar my step-dad. In German it is really fun. And French. English too! I love everything to do with speaking. But I like written aswell. A bit of both but i prefer Oral

I hate writing things down. My penmanship is absolutely terrible and it actually slows me down. I'll forget the ending to the sentence I'm writing half-way because my handwriting is so slow (that is, if I want it to be legible). While I'm not very good at public speaking, I find it easier to come up with an answer if I can say what I'm thinking as I think it.

Well, any oral exam I have done, I got good grades for. I speak way too much to not do oral, but written allows me to process thoughts before actually saying them so that's the difference with me.

I personally prefer written exams because that way if I make a mistake I can easily solve it. Whereas with an oral exam you don't have that opportunity.

I'm a little shy, but I don't really mind oral presentations as long as I know what I'm talking about. I feel like with oral presentations you can show the teacher you know what your talking about, and at the same time you could even throw in a joke or two and make the presentation more interesting. I prefer taking written exams if it's a subject I may not understand as well or if the topic is more serious. Overall, my preference just depends on my understanding and the subject matter. :)

Definitely written, I have no self confidence so I get really nervous during oral exams and end up performing really badly. In my french exam I freaked out and started panicking while I was being asked questions and it was so awkward, yeah I failed it. I write way too much but written over oral any day.

Oral all the way. I love being in front of an audience and having all attention on me. It's an incredible rush to have all that power. Is that how this place is? Lots of introverts?

I'm not a great speaker so I prefer written cause I'm a fairly good writer.
