I never 'decided', as said in the title. I knew when I was around 12 or 11 years old, when I first heard what it was to be lesbian it seemed pretty weird to me- I mean, girls are supposed to love boys and vice versa. At least, that's what I thought. But I started to realize that these feelings I had felt about girls sounded an awful lot like that lesbian thing. At first I thought I was bi, a girl hugged me and I got butterflies and I thought she was really cute and I liked her a lot. I did a lot more research on different kinds of sexuality. Growing up, the only diversity I had known was black vs white, Jewish vs Christian, etc. It opened up a whole new world for me to know that there were people of both sexes that liked not just the opposite sex, but instead the same sex, or both. Some people don't consider themselves to be either gender. Some are born the wrong gender. And all sorts of other things as such. I think when I learned all that, and discovered diversity, was when I really began to realize, "Maybe I do have a crush on that girl, instead of just some silly feeling?"

I had a crush on a couple girls but I was more sexually attracted to males. I sat myself down and asked if I could ever marry a female, maybe but probably not. Could I see myself making love to a girl... No. That's when I knew I was gay.

My buddy and I just started doing stuff a few months ago. I just know we have lots of fun and it feels really good. Maybe we are gay.

I've always known. I always wanted a man to sweep me off my feet and tell me I was the only thing that mattered to him. I couldn't see myself doing that with a female.

'Decide' is really not the right phrasing at all, no one decides. If you mean 'when did you know?', then about 11 or 12, although I always have been and didn't even admit to myself until 13 or 14.
