I was just wondering, why can you still send PMs to users that have been banned?

Why would you want to send a banned member a PM when realistically they are never going to read it?

I don't, I was just wondering why you can

It's probably just a little quirk with the system. I wouldn't be worried about it unless you get a response back! :P
Now my question to you, why were you trying to send a PM to a banned user?

They aren't going to receive it anyways, so there's no big deal. Not like they're gonna reply or anything

As I said before, I wasn't

I was going through my friends, saw someone was banned, went on their profile and saw that the contact me tab still existed. I had a look and saw Send a PM to ......

Then wondered why you could

Ah, ok.
Well as I said, I wouldn't worry about it unless you receive a PM from a banned person! :P

That would be interesting!

Rest assured, a banned user could not access their PM box, and has no chance of PMing you back, or reading your PM on VT.

I'm really not sure why you would ever need to PM a banned user though. :P

Then why is it possible to?

Then why is it possible to?

Well the contact page appears as that's the way Vbulletin is obviously designed but they can't read it so sending one would be pointless.

And silly, as they have probably been banned for a reason.

Anyways, I was just curious

But they don't get the message as you can't send it so its not really silly more the way the system works. Its not a big deal.

Like others have said - a banned member couldn't possibly respond to a PM anyways. It's a bit strange, but it's not something that needs to be "fixed" because it's not really a problem.

I agree it isn't

I agree it isn't

Why is this a concern?

I wasn't concerned, it was a question purely out of curiosity

Well I suppose they could read it, if they get email notifications?

I could be wrong, but I think email notifications from your VT account stop after you get the PM that says "You've been banned from Virtual Teen Forums".

A banned user wouldn't get email updates about PMs, birthdays, or anything for that matter. If you really want to PM a banned user.... then I guess go ahead? :P It's like PMing yourself. It's possible, but why?

Yeah, thats what I thought. There would really be no point in them receiving notifications since they can't access their former account to reply to them.

It's like PMing yourself. It's possible, but why?

I guess if someone was really bored they could entertain themselves by doing that, but they seriously need to find something better to do with themselves if that's all they can do. Lol

This is funny. It's like a false paradox :P
