Do girls care if guys have braces?

So I've had braces for 5 years, and I have nothing to show for it, I heard a rumor that was out out against me, and no I'm feeling rather crappy. I'm a senior this year and I was hoping this year was going to be different. Now I'm not too sure about that. I've worked out this whole summer, and I'm going to join another gym at the beginning of next month.

The one thing that's holding me back is my smile. I've never had a girlfriend, and I want this year to be the first year I have one. The beginning days of school has started out crappy.

Well some will care obviously as everyone has things that don't/do like in a guy just as guys have things they like in a girl. However, I think given that the maturity level will be higher less people will care what you look like and probably won't even notice the braces.

So some will but those people tend to be quite shallow (not all but some) and others won't care.

Just don't choose to rush into a relationship because sometimes if you rush for one things don't end well.

If a girl does then that is kind of shallow. I like braces in general so if a guy had braces for me, it would be a bonus.

y so long? Do u not go to any of ur appointments? My moms an orthodontist and the process takes 2 and 1/2 years tops, mine were under 2 years. Some of my Friends still have them because they never go to the appointment and she said that's y. So what's up with u?

Two and a half tops is in average cases. Some people have to have them on much longer if the issues are in need of serious correction or some people have to have them put back on if their teeth later shift. Everyone is unique.

Anyway, back to the actual point of the thread. I don't think it's that big an issue. Some girls dislike it though, yes, if I am honest with you. I personally can't stand braces but it's because I find it to be an issue when kissing someone who has them. Personal preference as it can be a bit weird and uncomfortable (you'd think they wouldn't get in the way... they do). Don't worry about it though. Some girls don't care at all.

Girls at my school don't tend to care about braces. My suggestion is to just be polite and friendly.

I don't mind if a guy has braces. One, I have braces and so do a lot of my friends so that'd be hypocritical. Two, I think sometimes braces can be cute! I just got mine March 14 ( I only remember because It was Pi day lol), but it's probably going to be a while before I get mine off! When I was getting them on, the Orthodontist told me my canine tooth was weird, then proceeded to tell me it didn't mean I was weird but my tooth was. I would have laughed but you know...I was in the middle of getting braces. Anyways, don't let braces bring down your confidence! If a girl dislikes you because of your braces, then she's probably not someone you'd want to date in the first place! Just keep smiling! :D

Braces shouldn't matter, except when kissing, because you can end up cutting the person so you have to be extremely careful.
