I sleep in the buff and my hands were under the blankets so I was touching down there, then I felt this thing on my left testie. I think it is a lump, should i tell my dad or is it normal?

if it wasnt there before you should tell your dad right away it might be something bad but it might be something harmless id rather be safe than sorry

But how do I tell him, it would be so awkward walking up to him and say "hey dad I think I have a lump on my left testicle, can you check it", does anyone have a less awkward way?

I don't see why you would need to tell your father. He won't be able to identify it any more than you. You should tell your doctor as soon as you can. Chances are its nothing serious, but you don't want to ignore it an the off chance that its malignant.

But I would need an adult to go to the doctor and since i'm not telling mum, dad would be the one I would have to turn to

I know this is a relevant section but I think you'll get much better answers here and it's more medical related.

Either way you still need to get it checked out whether its embarrassing or not you need to get it checked out. Say hey dad I need to go to the Dr's and that's it if he asks why then tell him

yeah; tell dad that you'd like a doctor visit. You can say that you noticed something while in the shower....that it's on your mind.....and you'd like to have it looked at. If he asks.....just say that it's a lump "on your privates"......

He will probably sense that it's awkward for you to talk about....and will just make the appointment and that's that.

You really should do this. Do it now.

I know exactly what you mean about the akwardness.

Firstly, where's the lump? Is it on the side of the testicle or kind of hanging on the tube? Check the other testicle, if the same thing is on both, then you probably shouldn't worry.

If it's a new lump, go get it checked IMMEDIATELY. If it's roughly the same on both of your testes, then I would get it checked, but I would be a little less concerned.

He may just take you to the doctor tho.

You know what sucks?

People post threads here like this....and get people concerned.....and then.....nothing.

No reply.....no hint of the outcome.

And; it's not just that we are nosy.....but it's a learning thing, We find out what your situation is/was....and we learn.....and then some other kid who's reading this thread later on can say "oh cool....it turned out to be nothing...."

Of course; with something potentially serious.....no one should rely on posters here for "the last word" advice.....go see a doctor.

I told my dad, he got some paper and drawn an oval shape and told me to point to where the lump was, I pointed there and he told me it's probably nothing to worried about, it will probably go away.
He also said if i feel any pain there I should tell him and he will take me to the doctors.
