Cold sore treatment

Ok I have a cold sore on the left side of my lip. Is there any way I can get it to go away? All I have is chap stick.

(I used to have a cold sore on the right side of my lip a few years ago and it got infected. I had to go to a dermatologist to get it removed. :( I don't want that to happen again though!)

TL;DR - I have a cold sore on the left side of my lip now. Will it go away in a few days if I don't do any thing? How can I treat it to make it go away quicker?

I read online that it will go away by itself in a few days... :confused:

Carmex is the best product I know to get rid of cold sores quick. I get blisters sometimes and it works for that too.
