Have you ever thought that once upon a time 'and' was gibberish. 'science' too. How weird is tht? The greeks made so many words, so did shakespeare for tht matter, and once they would of been gibberish.

1,000 years ago every word in this sentence would have been gibberish. Even though English is still the "same" language, it has changed drastically over time. That goes for the vast majority of languages. There are some that haven't evolved a whole lot though. Although rarely spoken, Latin is essentially unchanged.

You're completely right. It's amazing to think that the words we use now never used to exist. Lots come from the dead language of Latin, lots come from the Greeks, lot's come from other random places.

Even the word Bazerk comes from the Viking tribe called the Bazerkers.

Berserk, coming from the Old Norse Berserkr, meaning Bear-shirter [Ber-sarkr, serkr].

On topic, linguistics is fascinating.

Languages evolve and therefore change with time, so yes, our words of today will eventually be seen as complete old-style stuff of even primitive.
Who knows, maybe all the swear words of today will be in very common use in 200 years, and lose their original meanings.
Saying "Oh my god" in the times just before the Reformation in Europe was an incredibly high form of insult (remember, Christianity (and religion in general) were BIG then).
