I had asked someone who knows the girl I like to find out who she likes. That person came back to me saying she likes someone else. I asked this person to tell the girl I like that I like her. Without knowing what happened, today a guy who is friends with the girl I like asked me if I like her. I said maybe and he caught onto the fact that I like her, then he told me to ask her out, I didn't because I wanted to find out about movie timings before talking to her about a date. But after she found out I like her, every time she looks at me she smiles. She has never smiled at me before and this is the first time she is smiling at me.

So, did the girl I asked lie about her liking me?
Could it be that the girl I like lied because she didn't want to pass gossip around the school? (If so, now gossip will pass with her asking a guy to find out from me if I like her)

dont overthink everything you see or hear about her. who cares about movie times? you can do a lot of other things if theres not a movie on the time you like (although unlikely). ask her out and find out for sure what she thinks about you. good luck
