View Full Version : Breathing Difficulties

Fiction

At the end of May I had a really bad throat infection in which I was really ill and at one point coughed up some blood. This only happened the once though and it wasn't fresh blood, more of a blood clot.

After that my throat still felt sort of croaky and I then got a sinus infection. Since then my throat still hasn't really recovered and about a week ago it began to get worse again.

It's at it's worst today. It sort of feels like I have a cold expect I have no other symptoms other than in my throat. No bloked nose, no temperature, nothing else. On top of that my throat and chest feel really tight and at times i'm struggling for breath.

I have a heart problem so the lack of breathing is causing palpitations. I've also been sleeping loads lately and at the moment I feel really cold and my hands etc are cold to the touch.

I'm getting quite worried to be honest. Anyone any idea what this is?

I've tried mentioning it to my mum but she's unsympathetic at the best of times.

Your best bet would be to go to a doctor, I had a friend with something like this and she was temporarily put on an inhaler. The third paragraph sort of sounds like when I have problems with asthma and the cold could be circulation problems. But like I said it's best to go to a doctor, the coughing up blood part does sound a bit worrying.

If you are actually grasping for breath and cannot breath and you mother will not listen, call your emergency service number (example you would dial 911 in an emergency in the USA)

I have a similar problem to this and I found it's just best to see my doctor before it get's worse and I end up really sick like I have in the past.

I have an appointment with my doctor already on Friday, so I am planning to go and see my doctor.

I went for a walk after I posted this and I found that this helped loads. I'd been pretty inactive most of the day and a walk helped but it's still not normal.

My mum is a doctor and when I coughed up blood I was pretty ill and she said it does sometimes happen with really bad throat infections.

It just worries me it's serious and what with my anxiety I keep thinking i'm not going to wake up the next day.

My eyes widened as soon as you said coughed up blood. Tht is quite dangerous. Get it checked out by a doctor other than your mother. Then you may have an inhaler or some antibiotics

you should be okay, try drinking some tea and such, if your palpitations are getting worse go to the hospital, do you think your palpitations are from your breathing or you worrying?

The more you worry, the worse it is going to get. Try to distract yourself.

My palpitations are because I have a heart problem :p

I went to my doctor and she gave me an allergy nasal spray. I thought it had got better but it's worse again tonight. I'm going back on Friday.
