So! I want to see what the forums of VT think about the whole Superman vs Goku thing!

PS: Please keep in mind that they are fictional characters so try not to get too worked up about it.

Here is my OPINION:
In terms of bios, I am on goku's side. I enjoyed DB-DBZ as a kid and even now. Superman was cool, but I always thought of him as some guy in tights who never really had any power. I thought this for a while until I stumbled upon this whole MAJOR conflict that was going on. I didn't think much of it at the time because I figured, Goku of all people should be able to easily take out some guy in tights who couldn't do much, at-least not in my memory of the justice league, lol. Then as I got older, I started to see it again, but this time took a more serious attempt at trying to understand both characters and see who would win. This is when I came across something, comics and animes are NOT the same. Anime has manga which is written and finished by the manga creator. Comics are written then branch out into dozens of weird stories and somehow it works all together, and it's weird to me! So anyways! I watch smallville and it's absolutely amazing! I loved all of the actors and to this day, it is considered my top 10 tv-shows of all time! This brought me to a new light on the superman/goku argument. So I decided to do this, instead of the actual statistics, I used Goku at the end of GT, who becomes immortal after absorbing the dragonballs and whom I believe is a massive galaxy buster at least, and universe buster at best. Which if you don't know, Universe>Galaxy>Solar System>Planet. So anyways, since the superman's power is SO different in every version, I decided that it would be a tie, since you can't kill somebody who's immortal, and if goku were beaten, he would get stronger and since he's immortal he'd just come back and keep coming back until he was on par with clark. So therefore, I say it's a tie! Please tell me what you guys think?

Goku is the better character, but Superman is stronger.

But who do you believe would win? I still say tie because of the reasons listed above.

I'd go on a rant, but sine I haven't seen the video in a while, I'll just be basic with it.

I'm on Goku's side til the end of time, but Superman rightfully won this fight. But there were abilities of Goku that were nerfed and disregarded which got Superman the victory. Even though Superman would win either way, Goku had more of a chance than displayed.

1.) He had the Dragon Balls, which could have done whatever he wanted to Superman.

2.) The Spirit Bomb should not have been absorbed to use the Dragon Fist, but rather used as a normal attack. It was less avoidable and if it didn't kill Superman, it would very severely weaken him.

3.) Instant Transmission was nowhere near as limited as displayed. The concentration required for Goku to teleport was not enough to keep him from avoiding any attack that Superman threw at him.

4.) Superman gets more powerful as he approaches the sun. Goku, as stated by King Kai, can absorb energy from all of his surroundings to create a Spirit Bomb. This includes the sun. Goku is not limited to absorbing only a small amount of energy from a source. Rather, he can take all of it. Goku could have absorbed all the energy from the sun, and use it as an attack. This would most likely destroy Superman, either with the attack, or with the fact that he is powerless after the energy is absorbed. To prevent the cold death of the planet due to lack of sunlight, Goku could regroup the Dragon Balls again, if they weren't in his possession already. And almost immediately with Instant Transmission.

Goku has all of this going for him, and could have won the fight. The only reason Superman would win in the end is because he's invincible no matter how little power he has.

And the only flaw in these points that I can see is that Goku may not be able to withstand all of this energy, as he stated in "Super Android 13", when he could barely handle a fraction of the power that would exist in this battle.

EDIT: And another thing...

While the two were in space, Goku could have used basic Kamehameha waves to combat Superman. If they were positioned in front of Earth, Goku could aim a blast a Superman, and he'd have to take it. If the blast were to miss, it would destroy the planet, especially while he's in Super Saiyan form. This was demonstrated in the Cell Saga, when Goku used the Instant Kamehameha against Cell.

ANOTHER EDIT: Or, Goku could just say "fuck this" and DESTROY THE SUN. Piccolo destroyed the moon and nothing bad came of it. It was also able to be fixed by the Dragon balls. Destroying the sun would render Superman absolutely powerless, giving Goku the best opportunity for a kill. Again, any damage caused by the fight can be repaired by the Dragon Balls, so there are no negative consequences of going all out. So long as Earth and New Namek aren't blown to bits.

Doesn't the Spirit Bomb only effect those who aren't pure of heart?

Those who are pure of heart are able to *deflect* the Spirit Bomb, but they are still in danger of being hit if they don't. This was shown by Gohan when Krillin threw the Spirit Bomb at Vegeta, but missed. Gohan was going to die if Goku hadn't instructed him to block the attack.

I think in Superman's case, it'd be difficult to deflect the Spirit Bomb, due to the fact that it would be about as big as a planet in that case.

I think Supes would be able to deflect it. Sure it'd probably be difficult, but he could definitely do it.

Goku can destroy planets, unlike superman.

Basically the roster of super-powerful characters goes like this:

Seiya>Goku>Superman>Alucard>Batman>Scorpion>Every Marvel Superhero

Superman PRIME would probably have the power to destroy planets, but if the sun is eliminated, Superman is fucked all around.

Superman. I find faults in the destroy-the-sun-idea. If i remember right, and its been a while since ive watched either, the dragon balls cant bring a planet back because they can only do things within reason. And Superman is the man of steel and can only be destroyed by kryptonite though he can be hurt, not killed. And Frieza lived after the spirit bomb(mostly) so why not Superman?

Ok, the destroy the sun idea does have it's flaws.

Didn't the Dragon Balls create a brand New Namek and teleported all of the Namekians to it? Only after reviving all of Namek's residents? I think the Dragon Balls are capable of reviving Earth.

The Spirit Bomb used in this fight, in theory, would be much stronger than even the Spirit Bomb used against Super Buu, as EVERY BIT of energy from Earth and the Sun is being used. Plus, 1, Superman's power source is the sun, so he'd lose his power, and 2, no one, and I mean no one is taking a giant energy ball, more powerful than the sun head on, and not taking a scratch. I would stop watching television.

the difference is That Kid buu was the most evil villain to grace the planet at that time. THATS why the spirt bomb killed him. I think Goku But DC writers wont let him lose a battle. That's part of the reason why I like marvel better

True but the sun is probably several hundred times bigger than Earth or Namek. But the solar system isnt one of my strong points so correct me if im wrong. With something with as much energy as the sun, it would take as much power as he used on Superman to actually bring the sun back. With no more power anywhere to use to bring the Earth or the sun back no one would win. I say a draw, but if i have to id side with Superman. The only weakness for him is Kryptonite. Then again i may just be tired of Goku winning all the time lol.

If the Sun were destroyed, the Earth would instantly become a lifeless frozen asteroid hurtling through space. Provided the Sun could be destroyed without taking the Earth with it.
