Okay, so I'm OBSESSED with rap, and I really want to know what the VT community thinks about rap and their opinion. I personally think every rapper is good in their own way, as long as they're actually rapping and not just repeating words in a rhyming fashion that make no sense.~

My top 10 list:
1. Rakim - To many he is known as the king of hip-hop.
2. Andre 3000 - One of the greatest rappers.
3. Tupac - One of the most intelligent rappers.
4. Biggie - His skill rival Tupacs.
5. Big L - Simply amazing lyrics and delivery.
6. Big Pun - Again, and amazing artist.
7. Nas - Great influencial rapper.
8. Jay-Z - Amazing flow and lyrics.
9. Vinnie Paz - Honestly just simply a great rapper.
10. Childish Gambino - Say what you will, but personally, he is my all-time favorite rapper next to Ro-Ransom.

BEFORE ANY OF YOU HATE, I didn't put Eminem on there on purpose.
If he were to be on that list, he would replace 10, IMO. But of-course, this is ALL opinion, because it all goes down to preference. In my opinion, in terms of lyrical capability, delivery, flow, handling, beats, disposition, and flat out favor-ability, these are the top ten rappers. Keep in mind, there is no right or wrong answer, but please share! No h8 pls.

Runner-ups in no particular order: Ro Ransom, Hopsin, Kendrick Lamar, Earl Sweatshirt, Razzy Kazz, Bone Thugs n Harmony, Outkast, NWA, All of Wu-Tang, Drake, Immortal Technique, Game, 50-Cent, Lowkey, Mic Righteous, Logic, FDayes, Capital Steez, Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, TI, Tech N9ne,, DMX, KRS-1, Chip tha Rip, Kid Cudi, Mos Def, Mac Miller, Jay Electronica, Jedi Mind Tricks, Mob Deep, GZA, Inspectah Dek.

I like Industrial and Experimental Hiphop, if that counts. But I have listened to a small number though. The music geek here introduced me to them, when I gave a hate speech to modern pop rap.

1. Rakim
2. Nas
3.2pac
4.Biggie
5. Immortal Technique
6. Eminem
7.Mobb Deep
8.Jay Z
9. Old Kanye West(2004-2008)
10. NWA and all its members

Others: K Rino, Ras Kass, Chino XL,Common, DMX, Gang starr, Scarface, Lupe Fiasco, Big L, Jay Z, Big Pun, Bone Thugz N Harmony, Akir, Diabolic,Dead Prez, Iron Solomon, UGK, Old 50 Cent, Outkast/Andre 3000
I'm missing so many but those are just off the top of my head...

Thank You for showing love to Immortal Tech, he is hands down one of the best underground rappers of all time. I respect him for not sucking dick to try to go mainstream like all these other rappers.

Drake? I dont even think he deserves to be mentioned in the same list with some of these greats. He's too mainstream, he has a few good songs but most of his shit is mainstream garbage.

I'm more of a Old school(90s) and underground rap person, new rap is just trash to me.

Drake gets way too much hate. So does 50 and Game. They're all very talented though. Some of drake's songs are really relateable to me that's why he's up there and not including some of his newer songs, his old shit was really good. Same with 50 and Jay. I personally do not like eminem, as most of his fans just claim him as the undisputed "king" of hip-hop with no back-up and 90% of them can't name atleast 30 other rappers, like if you're going to crown somebody king of a whole entire GENRE of music then the least thing you could do is know atleast 30 since there is thousands of rappers out there.

I 100% agree with the statement you just made about Eminem's fanbase. Most of them are people who dont know 2 shits about the Hip Hop genre and automatically assume "Eminem is the best rapper ever" or "All rap is garbage except Eminem. Though, regardless of his fanbase you cant take away that he is one of the greatest rappers ever.

Drake is just too mainstream for me, I cant take him serious when he says stuff like "You gone' make me catch a body like that". Your from fucking Canada for gods sake, your not going to kill anyone, you havent hustled a day in your life. His older shit is OK, though I still depise anyone who is in YMCMB.

Old 50 is classic, his early stuff in the late 90's to mid 2000's is just golden. Even though I'm not the biggest mainstream rap fan, I'd easily put on some 50 before I put on Lil Wayne or 2 Chainz.

Jay? I have respect for him because hes basically the only rapper that was big back in the day(90s, Early 2000s) that is still cranking out hits and relevant in the rap game. If you look at everyone who was big back in the mid-late 90s and early 2000s, most of them have fell off or no longer able to produce quality records. Though, when it comes to Jay Z vs. Nas, Nas all day!
