Exactly- if there's gonna be a Christian forum then you need an atheist, jewish,
muslim, catholic, etc forum. It's not really fair to just have a christian forum..

This site is built so that teens like you and I can have fun, make friends, and most importantly speak freely about our opinions on topics (within the forum rules of course). Bringing religion into the mix wouldn't go well I don't think. I personally have no problem with a forum like that, but I also believe that it would cause more problems than it is worth.

I agree with this. I mean someone would say they don't support gay marriage due to their religious belief. Before it has a chance to stop, all hell breaks loose.

And I want a Quaker forum.
This is kind of a bad idea, since it's unfair to those on the site if other religions. I think that any discussions you want to have about Christianity can be held in the White Padded Room, or Ramblings of the Wise, if it's a more debatable topic.

Then I want a Buddhist forum. If we're gonna circlejerk over our respective religions, we might as well do it right.
Sorry OP, but this is never going to happen.

I want a Muslim forum, because although I practice no religion, I pretend to be an Islamic supremacist.
Because we have Musilmanic Ray Guns.

There is a 'Social Group' called VT Christians or something like that. Joining that group would be my idea for you.

Yeah a forum isn't likely to happen, I'd go with what Gumleaf said...

I actually disagree with this. You said "most importantly speak freely about our opinions on topics".. Well, if we can't use religion if it means something to us, then we aren't allowing users to speak freely. It's pretty simple, if we were to have a religion forum, if you don't like it, stay out of it. It's like any other forum -- if you don't like puberty, stay out of it. If you don't like Rambling of the Wise, don't go in it. There theoretically should be no reason why someone couldn't bring their own views and beliefs into a conversation. I'm not saying it would or wouldn't cause any problems, but if we can freely speak what we want, there's no reason why religion should not be allowed in a proper way.
Now, I don't think a Christian forum, or even a Religion forum in general is fit for VT. Not necessarily because of the controversy it might spread, but just because of what VT is. There are plenty of religion based forums out there if that's what you're looking for - VT just isn't one of them. As Gumleaf said, you can always join the social group for VT Christians. I can't imagine VT adding a religion forum however.

Also, if you'd like to discuss religion, your beliefs, or learn about others, there is already a stickied thread here (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=7985). Mind you, you might get "debate" (that's what they're calling it), but that's your best bet for religious talk on VT other than the social group.

Why would that "[NEED] to change"?
This isn't a forum for religion. This is for teens helping and receiving help from other teens.
With the occasional arcade fun :)

Exactly. If it's something debated or that could go down such a path, it should go in a debate forum.

if anything why not a general religion forum for everyone? Give it some time to see how it works and if it doesn't then we just remove it.

HAHAHAno. Did you poll EVERY user to see what their religion is? I find that extremely arbitrary to say to know the religion of every single currently active user that hasn't left/quit. There isn't a religion forum because it would become quite possibly the worst area of VT, with complete "anarchy" going on, with flaming and fighting in almost every post. It doesn't need to change, it would be nice to have if you support that religion, but I feel that takes VT from it's status as a help forum for teens. I don't recommend this AT ALL. The closest thing you would get to a Christian forum is a diary.

I see Val's point here. I don't like RotW particularly, so I hid it from my viewable forums as well as Girls Puberty, and other forums.

Pretty much all of this. Val said it perfectly.

I don't agree with a religion forum really, but I would agree with this if any of the Staff decided to add it. If it doesn't break, don't fix it. If it turns into a hellhole, lock all threads and don't allow new thread creation (we don't want to delete people's hard earned posts now do we ;) ?).

That's how it goes on Quotev, WP, you name it. Religion always brings out the intolerance of people who claim to be tolerant.

Good points all around. IMO, this site should be a place to be safe, hang out, and get anonymous (or mostly anonymous) advice. We proved we can't have rep without people virtually ganging up on each other. I think a religion forum could display similar activities.
