View Full Version : I sick and tired of being the "cute little brother"

Ever since I became a teenager, many of my peers (mostly girls) have said to me, "you are such a cutie!" or "you're so adorable!" I have had many crushes, but I have never asked any out for fear of them saying something like, "Why would I date you? You're like a little brother to me." I don't mind being called cute, but when it comes to love, I want someone to at least treat me as equal instead of as a little puppy. Does anyone else have this problem? What should I do about it?

Teenage girls tend to use "girly" words like cutie and adorable, my GF calls me a cutie :P Just because they don't call you "handsome" or "Hot" doesn't mean they don't like you, perhaps it just not in their preferred diction. Hope that helps :D

But most people do... Not just the girls or teenagers, for the matter.

Try being proud of who you are... don't try to act tough or bad, people see right through that shit. Plus girls go for confidence... most of the girls at my HS would go for the average guy that's comfortable in his own skin over the hot, insecure guy. A lot girls like soft/sensitive guys... if that's your personality, why try to suppress it with some bullshit act that people will eventually see through anyway. Hope that helps :D

Like it or not, girls talk to each other. They are your single best or worst public relations firm. Roll with it, brah. Just because they MAY only think of you as the "cute puppy" doesnt mean all girls see you that way. These girls you are talking about are your best advertising. You can use that to your advantage by subtly having them talk you up with a girl you like. Confide in them and let them know you trust them with feelings. They will be all over that and can help you in ways no one else could.

The flip side is if you are ever a total douche to a girl, they can just as easily destroy your rep. So be sure you never damage your credibility with them.

I like your businesslike approach to the problem... I agree

I agree with this so much. Just wait you will turn from the "cutie" to the sexy stud to them. Just keep at it.

My female friends always tell me I'm so cute like a puppy. But not like puppyish. I don't know.
I think it's weird. I think I look 16-17. I'm a big guy :/

I agree with this. I have heard my sisters talk with their friends and they talk about boys like this.

Dude ive felt the same way for a while. Trust me its not a bad thing when they call you cute, Its all about the way you act/talk, im 15 my friends say i look like im 12 but you know what anyone worthwhile will realize you act more mature than you look... I mean my gf calls me cute all the time but its not like we dont make out and stuff, trust me its all good, just have confidence you wont look weak or anything it will make you look respectable... Ive personally tallked to my gf before we where dating aabout this and she told me"trust me its a good thing" so dont worry and get out there brah
