Terri Irwin has unexpectedly weighed into the controversy surrounding Britney Spears, suggesting the singer could recover from her recent instability by tracking crocodiles in the bush.
Asked on US television show Extra if she had any advice for Spears, Irwin responded by issuing an invitation to Britney to visit Australia.
"Bindi's the one who said, ‘People who are having trouble should go in the bush with us when we do our crocodile research work,' and if Britney and her family want to go in the bush with us, we’d love to have them,†she said.
Terri and daughter Bindi were appearing on the television show to promote Australia Week in the US, where Terri's dead husband, "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin, is held in great esteem.
The Irwins also spoke about plans to honour Kylie Minogue during the "G'day USA" week, with Terri praising the pint-sized singer's "wonderful contributions to Australia".
"Kylie and Bindi are about the same size," she said.
Bindi told the show that she hoped her father would be proud of her efforts to keep his legacy alive. "I'm trying my very best … I do have a lot of dreams about him. I believe in angels. I really do think we need to carry on his message."
