Hi all,
I have an iPod Nano, Generation one. It is formatted for Windows/ PC. Recently, i got a message that says:
FireWire Connections not support. To transfer songs connect to USB Cable provide
Press Center to Dismiss
I am using hte cable provide, I tried two other iPod Cords. Apple won't help me becuase I am about a year and a quarter out of warrentee. Suggestions?

Try using the reset utility from Apple.
You could call Apple and ask them were to find that. I can't find it right now. Sorry.

I reset my iPod, and I called them as well

From when the iPod is off, try pressing down the middle button and play button for a few seconds, this should take the iPod into "Disk Mode", then you can do a proper thorough disk check or a full format. It's still possible to resore the iPod after a full format.

im having ipod difficulties as well, something happened to the headphone input...hole. well when i plug in headphones/speakers only one works, i kno its not the headphones because ive had more then one kind plugged into it and still only the left one works. i called apple but im like 14 days over my warantee sooo they wont help me. is there anything i can do before i spend god knows how much money on a repair or new ipod?

Just make sure the headphones are pushed right in and try and push something small up there to clean it out. Do a search on google before you do send it to be repaired, it could be a common problem with an easy fix!

wat should i put in there to clean it with? a Q-tip?

I dont think a Q-tip can fit...
also if resetting doesn't workthen maybe you should try to find an Apple computer and plug it in and see what happens. If it works then go back and try it on your computer. If it still dosent work then the problem must be the cord and fireware of your iPod.
