View Full Version : I FINALLY stopped

I recently stopped cutting using a rather... unorthodox method. I picked a spot on my leg where most of my scars were and took a razor.... I cut more than I ever had before, probably 30+ times :/... I stopped when I began to get light-headed, woke up the next morning with a wicked headache. Its been a month since that day and I have never, not once felt the urge to cut. I have no idea why, its strange like all the pain and guilt just left... Its a liberating sensation, I don't recommend trying it... in hindsight it was pretty stupid. Just curious to see what everyones opinions are.

I would never try this, it sounds kind of scary. but if it got you to stop, congrats on that. A month is a great mile stone on the road of recovery :)

congratz on reaching a month.
But i have an idea why you may have felt light headed and have the headache. If you bleed alot during it, you may have lost a fair bit of blood and blood transports the oxygen. so hence losing blood makes you loose oxygen. And you had the headache after because your brain was depleted of oxygen.
That method sounds pretty shady for me though. All the what ifs that come to my mind with it. But gratz on making a month. now go for two.

While I don't approve of those methods, it's great that you stopped at least. Congrats.

That's what I did too but on my wrist ... probably not very safe but I haven't cut in 14 months. Congrats :D

I don't know if that's even considered a method because you cut, and 30+ times at that.
But you over came it so congrats.

While that's not something anyone should try, for the purpose of stopping, congrats on a month! That's a big deal. Now go for 2. 6. A year. Forever?

Congrats to you. :)
That's actually how I sort of stopped... one day I went too far and kind of scared myself. I just stopped there and haven't done it since; it has been some 2+ years. So keep being strong!

Congrats on stopping :)
Doing something like that can scare you into not wanting to do it again. I'm guessing that's what happened.

Congratulations on 1 month:)
Some methods for stopping don't work for everyone, and no offence but I probably would t recommend yours, but if it worked for you that's all that matters:)
