Taking an assessment focusing on the American Prairie around the 1860s-1870s. The answer is supposed to be in a few pages from a book but I don't see it!!

The products produced on the prairies went mostly to which market?

a. to people in the cities
b. to other farmers
c. to people in the western territories
d. overseas

Thanks
Edit: I ran low on time and chose A. I got 100% so I guess I got it right, since it doesn't tell me what I got right or wrong just my percentage.

If you're ever going to have to recall this stuff for another test, remember that the late 1800's saw the second industrial revolution in the United States. That meant the growth of cities, manufacturing, economic growth, and immigrants looking to find jobs in these large cities. Also led to a widening gap between the high class/rich people and these immigrant factory/institutional workers that were paid little and worked in bad conditions.

No problem.

If you're a person that struggles a bit with history, a great teacher that I had taught us to think of the time period as a whole; recall important people, events, the economy, the society, foreign relations, politics, and new ideas during that time period. So even if you come to a question where you have no clue, think about the time period, piece together what you know about it, and you can probably narrow down your answers and get a better idea of what the answer may be.
I used to be terrible at history, but once I started thinking this way, I've done much better... it stays in your mind better than just memorizing random facts and dates. Maybe it can help you too. :)

Great strategy. I'm actually not that bad at history and my mom is a history major, but I will keep this in mind :)
