Can you grow a beard?

Can you grow a full beard(Sideburns to chin)? I'm 17 and have little hair in most of the beard area but my dad can't grow a Beard.. Anyone know why's that too?

If i left it long enough I could get sideburns and a beard on the chin but they wouldn't join

That's an interesting point of view......
Most guys I know of want to be able to grow a beard as a show of "manliness".
I personally cannot grow any facial hair though. :(

This was me last year. Side burns and hair on the chin. But lately I've noticed that i got some on my jaw bones now. So they're connecting now.

The hairs on my face are pretty stubbly now so if I left it I could grow a beard but its not that thick yet and it's blonde so not as noticeable.

I'm 19 and have been able to grow a full beard for about a year now. Since I was about 16 i've been able to grow facial in various parts.

I'm 18, I can grow stuff that's actually visible in about 3 days. It takes about a week for it to be significant. Some guys don't really have facial hair. I know a few guys that can't really grow it or it just isn't visible. To be honest I'd rather not have to deal with shaving, I would love to not have facial hair sometimes. It just takes too much time to deal with.

I used to be able to, but not anymore. I have this problem where after a few weeks my facial hair will start falling out and I'll have a big bald spot on my beard. It sucks, but my girlfriend likes me clean shaving, so it's fine with me.
