I had no idea where to put this, and it might sound stupid, but hear me out. I have a cat that's about as old as I am, minus a year or two, her name is Yoda. Anyway, as I stated, she's getting pretty old, and is probably going to kick the bucket soon, and the guilt is eating away at me. I haven't spent a lot of time with her lately due to schoolwork and general daily duties, and usually the only time I do spend with her is when I just give her a scratch behind the ears when feeding her, if she comes up to me. I really wish I spent more time with her earlier these last few years, I just spent 15min petting her before writing this. What can I do? I just started to spend time with her sometime this last week.

Surely, you can't change the fact that she is old. All you can do is just be with her and cherish the time you have left together. It may be sad but life doesn't stop for anybody, it goes on.

Take as many pictures of her as you can
Make memories so that way when she is ready to pass you will always have that reminder of her. Animals are like family so I know how's your feeling. I have cats and I love them very much and one is almost as old as yours. Keep your head high and hope for the best. Good luck

I'm feeling the exact same, and in the same situation as you, I have a cat around my age and she's been very poorly lately, I cried last time she was sick just at the thought of losing her, although she's not the friendliest cat in the world, whenever I've had a breakdown there she is waiting outside my closed door and when I open it she comes in and nuzzles me, I'll be heartbroken when she dies but it's a fact of life, like biohazzard said take as many pictures as you can, hold onto as many memories as you can, they can sense your feelings and I'm sure she'll know how you feel about her :hug3:

Cherish the time you have left together!

I am in the same situation as you. My dad bought my mom a kitten when she found out she was pregnant with my twin and I, and she's still with us, but getting older. She's 16 now, and has been with me since I was born.
Now, I spend time with her everyday and cherish every moment, not to mention how many pictures of her I have!

Bonds with animals last forever, they become family.

I'm so sorry. My baby girl died a few weeks ago, I know how hard it is. Just listen to everyone else and cherish the time you have left. Then, when her time comes, get a kitten. Kittens make everything okay.
