i would say its a different experience for each, and like most of everyone said, alot hinges on the fact of whether theres a partner to be emotionally involved with or not, because emotional involvement does make a big difference
in my experiece though, even with a partner using it a toy (depending on the material) has a bit of an unforgiving rigidity to it that a penis doesn't. a penis has the feeling of being soft yet still solid, a pulse, natural movement...a life to it, where a plastic toy is just that...a piece of plastic, lifeless on its own except for what you give it. And the fact a penis really is living with a real person attached is something that helps makes it amazing, even with a gf/bff using a toy, the toy isn't part of them, if you get what i mean. i do appreciate the flexibility of what you can get from different toys though, whereas penises are more or less similar.

Although using toys can give you the general idea what sex will be like especially the penetration and how that feel there's a big difference between the two on a physical as well as emotional level. You can feel the heat of the penis while he enters you and while the penis can be very ridged like a toy it's feels very different. Biggest difference is you are in control of the toy and how fast and deep your penetrated and having a real guy you lose that control to a degree depending on the position you use.
