I was fat. I admit it. I was fat, eating horribly, and just way too fat for my own self. I was 14, and wasting my life. I ate meals, several snacks, and I ate when I got bored. Shortly before I turned 15 I was 275 pounds, 38" relaxed fit waist jeans were almost too small, 10d boots were getting tight, only 2XL shirts fit me, and if I looked down it looked like I had a second chin. If I leaned over to tie shoes, I got short of breath. I finally got sick of it all and did something. I quit all chocolate, snacks, ice cream, soda, everything sugary on the spot. I immediately started drinking absolutely nothing but water. This helped me last longer doing physical activity and I had more energy. In 2 months I dropped down to 220 pounds, fit size XL shirt (I'm built like a corn fed bull, thick with big shoulders and chest), 35" normal fit waist jeans, dropped half a shoe size, lost 3 notches in my belt, and went to buy jeans without being bigger than most grown men. It's a gratifying feeling getting rid of all your fat clothes. My friends and family took notice. I got way more compliments, I got a huge self esteem boost, and I actually felt like doing things with friends.

If your feeling like there's no hope for losing weight, don't think you're alone. You can lose it and feel good again.

But yeah, this isn't really related to an Eating Disorder.

I'm also 14, I've dropped about 10 pounds by modifying eating habits and not sitting on my butt all day. I can finally do a chin up!

Well done! I know what it's like to be overweight and your story is inspirational to all of those who would like to shed a few pounds.

The worst for me is when people say I'm not fat; yes, I am very gigantically built, yeah I'm the kid that's been shaving every day since sixth grade, I'm 13 and weigh like 250. No matter how tall and wide shouldered I am, 250 pounds is not alright.

Man I gotta do this. I tried cutting soda/gatorade before but there's always some in the house. How did you stay on track?

Man I gotta do this. I tried cutting soda/gatorade before but there's always some in the house. How did you stay on track?

I was just incredibly determined. The room I spend the most time in is my bedroom. I keep a 1 gallon jug of water and a small water bottle next to it in my room. Have a bottle of water everywhere. My truck, kitchen, bedroom, etc. Always reach for that water bottle.

What kind of workouts did you do, in those 2 months?
None. This was purely by diet. I am getting a gym membership next month though. The atkins diet is what I used. Very effective if you stay with it.

I am now in 34" waist jeans and they are getting loose. My old belt doesn't fit anymore. I am currently at 220 pounds. My goal for this year is to reach 200 pounds and get more muscular. I'm now just shy of 6 ft and am graduating this year. I am told I should be at 170-185 if I was average size. My doc said I am in pretty good fitness in the low 200 range because of my height, stout build and wide frame, but I'm determined to get fit this year.
