Did the site go down last night?

I tried to come on at around quarter past 11 in my area, and I got a notification saying that the site was having database issues.

Was this intentional or unexpected? Just wondering.

Yes it did and I'll say it was unexpected. Usually it is.

I was on VT about the same time and got the same thing when I went to post.
I had a friend try to get on and he got the same data base error message.
I'm kinda wonder whats up too because this isn't the first time this has happened.

It happened to me too. It was fixed by the time an hour or so had passed, so it's no biggie.

I was posting on threads around the same time here and got the same message.
I'm assuming it was unexpected and unintentional because if it is planned for the VT site server to temporarily go down, Mike (our admin) will usually post a warning in the "Announcements" forum.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a post in that forum later today explaining what the issue was, if he is even aware of it.

Happened to me too; Chrome told me it couldn't connect. Rather annoying. Not sure why, but I've been getting lots of lag on VT lately

Random downtime just happens sometimes -- although I've noticed the site running a little slower than normal -- I'm looking into it.
