I live with my mum and her husband and I can't stand him he treats me terribly and abuses me when ever he gets the chance is he see's and opportunity he jumps at it and it doesn't matter what I do it doesn't stop I can't stand it anymore and I'm thinking about leaving but I don't want to leave my mum behind I am scared for her and I just don't know what to do anymore any suggestions?

The most important thing you have to do is talk with your mom. You say you can't stand it but, have you talked about it with her? Or him? If he abuses you badly call the police when he starts again but first, talk.

He just hits me whenever he gets the chance I have tried talking but mum always has some bull excuse for him

Why do don't you want to leave your mom? Are you scared of what? Of him hitting her? If that's the case, propose to go to a psychologist or a familiar counselor. If he hits you that's called harassment and domestic violence and that's illegal. Specially if you're not a minor age. So, try to go with the talking ways and do not hesitate to call the police if he keeps abusing you. That's what I would do

He never gets physically abusive with my mum but I don't want to take any chances that's why I stay

I think that the best thing for you to do is report him to the police. It might be hard to do because your mom loves him but trust me, it's te best thing you can do. Your mom mihht be mad at you about it if she loves him but its the best thing you coild do, nit only for yourself but for her aswell

Domestic violence and physical abuse is absolutely unacceptable behavior for someone his age and for someone in his position. I would strongly encourage you to seek outside help and to communicate with your mother.
