The Agra agricultural fair in Slovenia’s town of Gornja Radgona will dedicate special attention to water, ecology and sustainable development. It will take place from 24 to 29 August this year. Featuring will be 1,730 exhibitors from 29 countries on a surface of almost 7 hectares.
The fairgrounds operator, head of the Pomurski sejem, Janez Erjavec highlighted the local self-sufficiency in food, tourist farms, the "I buy Slovenian" campaign, and an exhibition of indigenous breeds and agricultural plants. He also noted that given the crisis, the organisers were happy with the quality of the fair and pointed to more than 150 side events planned as part of Agra.
Among the foreign countries featured in Gornja Radgona will be Brazil and Poland, with a special presentation organised by the autonomousSerbian region of Vojvodina. There are 24 Hungarian, Austrian and Slovenian cities are involved in the City project.
The Slovenian Agriculture and Environment Ministry will move to the fairgrounds. By the consortium of bio-technical schools presentations of different chamber organisations and associations as well as the sport unit of the Slovenian Armed Forces will be held.
