What is your opinion on Laveyan satanism? I followed it for a few months last year, but yeah, I'm not one for religion or "anti"-religion. Just to let you know, I did not make up or type up anything below the bolded, all-caps satanism, it was simply copied and pasted from a really old word document, I do not recall where I originally obtained it from. :D

SATANISM
Satanism is not the 'worshiping of satan' as most dumbasses tend to believe. Satanists do not believe in a higher god, and are ordinary people. They do not dress in black, and try to sacrifice living animals for 'rituals.'

These are the Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth as stated by the Church of Satan's founder, Anton Szander LaVey:

1. Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.

2. Do not tell your troubles to others unless you are sure they want to hear them.

3. When in another’s lair, show him respect or else do not go there.

4. If a guest in your lair annoys you, treat him cruelly and without mercy.

5. Do not make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal.

6. Do not take that which does not belong to you unless it is a burden to the other person and he cries out to be relieved.

7. Acknowledge the power of magic if you have employed it successfully to obtain your desires. If you deny the power of magic after having called upon it with success, you will lose all you have obtained.

8. Do not complain about anything to which you need not subject yourself.

9. Do not harm little children.

10. Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.

11. When walking in open territory, bother no one. If someone bothers you, ask him to stop. If he does not stop, destroy him.

Nine Satanic Statements. Those are:

1.Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence.

2.Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams.

3.Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit.

4.Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates.

5.Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek.

6.Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires.

7.Satan represents man as just another animal -- sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours -- who, because of his "divine spiritual and intellectual development," has become the most vicious animal of all.

8.Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification.

9.Satan has been the best friend the Church has ever had, as He has kept it in business all these years.

I like alot of it, but I think people should care more about others, and help the needy, not be so selfish

That is satanism to me, and if they don't ''worship the devil'' why call it satanism?

Its mostly just some emo kids with nothing better to do, and then there are those who problably want to influence the emo kids to do something for them.

I don't like to talk about the issue, I've seen their so called sites and their ''we don't worship the devil'' stuff... If you call it Satanism then look for the fucking dictionary and tell me something that wouldn't make me think your just a little kid who has nothing better to do.

Sorry this just pisses me off, nothing nice about it.

Talk to these Emo kids you're so quickly labeling and they'll probably tell you it's devil worshiping.

Satan doesn't just mean devil, you know that right?

Satanism is basically for overly intelligent hermits. Not enough caring for others. Seems like it was made by a heartbroken man, never been a fan.

The principles stay the same, no matter what you call something you can't change what it is, neither will illustrating it help.

Not caring for others and being selfish is hateful, hate comes from the devil.. Atleast thats how I see it.

Personally I don't like satanism, but if you want to be a satanist go for it I guess.
Although it does seem a bit cruel "destroy him"

I don't really see hate 'coming from the devil'.

I see hate as bad. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE DEVIL.

And before anyone throws out there "than how could you believe in God?"

The devil is in the bible as a METAPHOR, he represents temptation and the evils of the world, he's not ACTUALLY a person/thing.

Ok seriously if you're gonna take the metaphor view, then you have to agree that everything in the Bible is metaphorical, God included. How can you claim that you personally know which parts of the Bible are literal and which aren't?

Well I do follow it all being metaphorical, it's just a guidebook to how to live a nicer life.

I don't think this thread is about the bible.. It may be relevant but not in the mood to talk about this..

If you scrap the ''devil'' still theres hate, and that removes the idea that their just a nice group of guys and gals who have high values of respect..

I don't believe there is such a deity, nor do I believe there is magic, but I do say I like these principles and if it wasn't for the fact that religion is a tool and there is no known, factual and provable higher power in the universe I might pick this up.
