Recently during vacation I've been feeling very depressed/listless during the day (as if life has no meaning), yet hyper and ecstatic during the night. Is this normal for during puberty or should I be concerned? Any1 else have this problem?

That's a little over-the-top for a mood swing ....

I called it a mood swing cuz I'm not sure what else to call it. I don't think it's depresion at least but not exactly sure thus this thread.

Yes, it's normal. It's caused by hormones. Once puberty ends, you should start to notice less frequent mood-swings ( assuming you don't have a more serious problem ).

Yeah it's completely normal. If you thinks that's bad than you should see my sister. She's crazy.

Yeah. I do the same thing. During the day I'm not as energized, but once it's dark, I feel off the walls hyper. It's hormones. ;)

Yeah, I was worried about it for a while too, but then I realized that a lot of people are going through it.

I don't think thats anything serious.. A lot of the time during the day, I feel tired or sometimes depressed but at night I feel livelier! Its weird but I've learned to embrace it! :D

Sounds like hormones to me. However a contribution to that could also be that you are a night owl and nocturnal so you are sleepy, depressed, etc during the day when your body wants to be asleep and awake and ready to go at night.
Yep. You're a cat.
Sorry, that just came to mind when I read your post. I'm pretty sure it's hormones.

It's normal. I get depressive swings almost every day, with hours of neutral mood afterward, then a feeling of elation. We all get swings of some sort or the other.

Yeah the moodswings have started leveling out once school started/rowing season began. Thanks for all the very kind posters.

It's normal. In adolescence, I remember I loved when the weather was moody, such as raining, storms or blizzards. I'm naturally an introvert and a lone wolf, not because of lack of confidence or social skills, but because I enjoy being alone. That explains why I prefer situations that prevent me from going outside as I like tending to my business in the comfort of my home, such as gaming, listening to/writing/playing music, work out, etc. I like either that or being a ghost in a huge crowd, such as in a concert. :P
I also prefer dusk, night and dawn as times of day as opposed to morning, noon and afternoon as those are too bright and generic for me. I like the nightlife and feeling as if I'm in Vice City or something. You're not alone! :D
