Disclaimer: This thread is considered a Clean thread. That means please keep posts kid-friendly, meaning not explicit/sexual and constructive.
When me and my friends were growing up we had babysitters like most kids. And sometimes our parents told them to make us bathe-even if we didn't want to! We even got bathed sometimes when we were dirty from playing outside, which me and my friends hated because they made us really clean and bubble baths were involved. Also some of my friends moms, especially now they're teens, make them bathe even if they don't want to because they claim 'you smell so you need one.' (I've observed this during sleepovers)
Therefore my question to you is, should moms/babysitters be allowed to do that. Or should kids be allowed to decide for themselves whether or not they want to bathe even if they are a bit smelly and moms/babysitters shouldn't be allowed to force them? I personally believe it should be the kids choice, not the parents but let me know what you think :)

Yes, they should be allowed to make their kids shower. Personal Hygiene is a very serious thing, and lacking it can cause multiple health issues, along with social issues. I don't see why someone wouldn't want to clean themselves. I hate smelling, even with my lifestyle.

George S. Patton summed it up, this time it actually is for your own health.

@George
I love your signature. I just finished doing 20 :)
I just feel kids should be allowed to chose on their own. It's their bodies-if they wanna smell let 'em. Better to get teased for it and learn it's wrong then to be forced to do it and not care out of yourself IMO

Here's a better question: Should moms/babysitters make us debate an actual topic of relevant discussion?

Where's the fun in debating a topic of relevant discussion? Sometimes it's nice to kick back and debate a sort of odd topic just for the heck of it.

I agree with Austin. Hygiene is very important both personally and socially. I sweet a lot and I hate smelling. I take 2 showers a day during the summer. 3 during school if you count the one after PE.

Of course they should.

The question itself is quite vague, I mean someone could be classed as a teen when they're 15 and I don't know many parents who still tell their children when they should shower

Of course they should. Hygiene is very important both social and for mental and physical purposes. I don't see what's wrong with making your kid bathe as no one wants to smell as if you smell and other people have to smell you it isn't exactly nice for them.
Plus when you live with your parents they have a right to tell you when to bathe if you aren't because you're living under their roof and they have to deal with you. I guess you can be as unclean if you want to be when you get your own place.

Ok this is getting a bit annoying with the string of topics of what parents should or shouldn't do in our lives, austin basically sums it up for this topic

Kids never want to bathe. Because of this, parents/babysitters need to make them bathe.

yes moms/babysitters should make you bathe. Granted I could be bias since I'm a female and I babysit.

@Harry Smith
I've known many parents that do that.
@Last of US
How does hygiene affect mental health?
@Illicitus One
Two showers a day. Sounds a bit OTT

You are biased I believe as you're a babysitter and this thread is a debate on their actions. Especially if ur a babysitter that bathes the kids (when they're young). Which, incidentally, I never liked as a kid.

There isn't really much debate, I mean I doubt many people think about the problems in the world and then think about whether babysitters make children bathe. This just makes me wonder if someone has a bathroom fetish

Yes, yes they should. It's kind of a part of their job.

Really you're accusing me of having a bathroom fetish? Oh pleaseee man. And Ik it's not a problem of the world but sometimes you shuld just IGNORE the world's problems and have a bit of a laugh
@Myles
True it's a part of their jobs but many people don't fully do their jobs.

Are you admitting to trolling with this thread?
Yes, there are more serious problems in the world, as stated...but if you are using the debate forum to "have a bit of a laugh" then this doesn't really need to be here at all.

I'm not using it to troll Emerald. What I'm saying is while I concede it's not a world issue it's still something to debate about. It's just of a lighter tone than some of the debates on this Forum may be. I haven't seen many debates on here. That doesn't make it a troll I hope because that was not my intention. TBH I didn't realize that the tone of this debate would be a problem

In the future, I would expect you to take this forum a bit more seriously.
Sorry, but joke's over.
