Anyone into screamo?

I always listen to screamo, like everyday. It's almost like a release for me all the screaming they do is what I wish i could do but i keep everything inside and so when i hear them it releases it. My favorite bands are: Suicide Silence, Askin Alexandria, Bring Me The Horizon, We Came As Romans, Alesana, Pierce The Veil, and Motionless in White. Eh calling it "screamo" is both incorrect a derogatory. It just packs up all these bands who have different sounds but harsh vocals into the same box. Screamo is a genre all of its own, not a name for every band with harsh vocals. The amount of times I have heard my friends call ALL of the music I listen to "screamo" because they think that if a band has harsh vocals it MUST be screamo.

Screamo is a post-hardcore-influenced subgenre of emo that evolved in the early 1990s. This initially involved a more aggressive offshoot of emo music and used short songs that grafted "intensity to willfully experimental dissonance and dynamics."

Bands that I actually might consider to be "screamo" and that I actually enjoy listening to are The Amity Affliction, Shreddy Krueger and Climates.

Most of the bands you listed belong to the sub-genre "metalcore" which is defined by it's harsh vocals and emphasis on breakdowns.

All that being said, I enjoy some songs by Motionless In White and I really like Bring Me The Horizon, especially their newest album. :)

Omg yes. I fucking love screamo! Listen to it everyday <33 I really want to learn to scream like that, but my neighboors are like really freaking close... so they would probably think I was torturing myself or something o_O lol I listen to some of those bands. Especially Motionless In White <33 Ah *-* So beautiful *-* I actually scared the crap out of an online friend, when I told him to listen(and watch the music video) to Immaculate Conception by Motionless In White XD He said I scared him for life. And, that he had a nightmare that night, about the apocalypse. lmao

I absolutely love "screamo" or hardcore, as I call it, music. Asking Alexandria is my love! Hardcore music just really speaks to me, it washes away all my worries and makes me happy!

I've only just started listening to that kind of music, but I'm starting to love it. My favorite bands are pierce the veil, bring me the horizon, sleeping with sirens, escape the fate, black veil brides and falling in reverse :) I don't know that many others yet to be honest though

"Screamo" is more of a blanket term... I like metal core pop punk stuff. Pierce The Veil, The Word Alive, House vs Hurricane, Parkway Drive, Bring Me The Horizon, Breathe Carolina, My Chemical Romance, Crown The Empire... The list goes on, they're just my faves :P

I really don't classify any of the music I listen to as 'screamo' but I like Bring Me The Horizon and Pierce The Veil both of which I've seen live. I guess A Day To Remember scream but they're considered pop punk hahaha, yeah love them.
