So if u saw my other post u know I didnt get my period yet but im 13 so i think i will soon, because i get discharge and all that.
i bought pads and tampons to be ready when it happens (the ones for tweens) but im not sure whats better. im pretty active in sports and swimming too. i have one of each in my bag/purse just in case.

1- what did you use when you first got your period? tampon/pad, brand?
2- what do you use now? why?
3- was it easy learning to use a tampon?

I used pads first but switched to tampons. My periods are super light so mine may not be a typical experience. I thought tampons would be uncomfortable but I like them better than pads becasue those always felt bulky and it didn't seem like they stayed in place as well as I wanted them to. If you get a chance try both and see which one is more comfortable for you.

Tampons.
Pads feels like I'm wearing a diaper.
Any other girl feel that way or is it just me?

Mom doesn't let me wear tampons, says I'm too young. I'm not sure if her reasoning is that they won't fit or whatever but I don't fight it in my house no is no and you don't talk back. I want to wear tampons really badly and I think there are some at the store up the street , but I know the owners and usually go up for candy so it's pretty weird, looking for other opportunities to get some.

Maybe you could try like a self checkout at a grocery store or walmart

for me personally I wear tampons but started only recently bc theyre more mobile

I wear pads more often because I don't get the chance to change tampons often enough for my liking. If it's for a short time and I'm going swimming, I'll wear a tampon.

You could also research alternate solutions. There's menstrual cups, reusable pads, etc. Do a little looking around, and it wouldn't hurt to try a few different things.

I don't have the means to get to a grocery store or walmart without parents. Don't self checkouts only take credit cards? The store up my street is a tiny corner store mostly ice cream, candy, and drinks. It has two owners I think they are husband and wife, but not positive. That's why I'm unsure of going there. I may have access to some tomorrow night or the night after, not sure.

No you could use cash in most self checkouts, maybe you could buy them when the wife is behind the desk

Carry two tampons and two pads in your bag if they will fit. that way you will be ready and you may mess up the first time, that way you will have an extra if you need it. Practice before you get your first period helps too. Just try wearing a pad for a day and see if you like it but if you swim a lot you may also want to practice wearing a tampon too. but not at the same time.

I'm afraid to wear tampons. They probably aren't that bad since a lot of girls wear them but I just don't want anything up my vagina until I'm married.I have super heavy flows and I always use U by Kotex overnight pads. I can't use regular or heavy flow pads since I leak very easily so I need something more absorbent.

I wear tampons for the most part, occasionally i'll put a pad in if I feel I need some extra support but tampons do the best for me as far as comfort goes.

First I used pads like nearly every girl. Now I use both but more tampons. Brand by pad I don't know for tampons it is o.b. Pads I use very often for the night and more at home. Tampon for school and swimming and such things. I first had a bit problems with using of tampos, but learend it very quick

I started off using pads because I was quite young but when I got to about 13 I started using tampons because I find them easier to wear and generally prefer them. I didn't need to learn how to use one, I never had any problems using tampons.

I like pad more. I usually use Kotex. Tampons just looked like they'd feel awkward, plus if you leave them in too long you can go into TSS.
