I've been trying to get into the chat room in my S3, but I always get that message.

I assume that it IS available on mobile since this menu is designed after iOS.

Anything I'm doing wrong, or is there another method of getting into the chat room on my phone? Flash browser? Tapatalk? Anything?

It's possible but we have not purchased the option for a mobile-enabled chatroom as it's 35 USD extra to add on to the 120ish dollar for the chat subscription alone.

why spend 120USD on a non profit forum? there are free forum creators and hosting services!

Free forums are shit and can't handle our needs, as are free hosting services. Plus that fee is only for the chatroom, and it's paid because the staff know the members enjoy it, and we want to keep it around.

Because we want to. The people who paid for chat decided to generously donate that money to the site, because of their dedication to the site. Sure, we could pick a crappy chat or something, but we like the addon chat, and to the people who paid for it, as well as people who use it, it's worth the money. We aren't currently paying for the vBulletin software, this was purchased years and years ago, just the chat. And of course the normal server fees.

To answer the OP though, there is no way to use chat on mobile devices, and there won't be, for cost reasons as well as people abusing it, and using it to find people to do inappropriate things with. Also, coming from someone who has spent quite a fair amount of time in the chat room, I can assure you that 95% of the time, there are so many users that anyone on a mobile device would not be able to keep up, and it'd be laggy and likely battery draining.

Thank you very much.
