it may be a sign of a growth spurt but sleeping a lot and having a big appetite are both general "symptoms" of puberty in general.

5'6" is a pretty good height for your age, since adult male average is only about 5'9". Hunger is a big symptom of a "growth spurt" but be careful not to overindulge! Your body may need some more calories, but loading up on the junk food to excess isn't going to help. Keep eating healthy (just eat more healthy, but substantial snacks). :)

what i do is eat a massive bowl of cereal before I go to bed, which means I can sleep. Generally, I cant do anything if Im not on a full stomach.
And just to let you know, im 16, 5 foot 9 and just over 9stone in weight, which is pretty damn skinny!!!! Just never seemed to grow. I can eat what I want, when I want, however much I want, and more often than not Ill either not put any weight on, or oddly enough, lose a lb or two...

Be a little careful with that. High metabolism is cool but it doesn't last forever. You may eventually hit a wall when you'll have to start watching what you eat and working out, or you'll put on a lot of pounds. It's unlikely this will be anytime soon, though.
