Tiny lumps on penis

Hi

ive got these tiny little bumps on my penis, just down by the base.

They dont hurt and they dont look like genital warts.

What r they?

Probably just areas where hair follicles or sebaceous glands are. You may see some hair grow out of them. Otherwise, they do nothing at all. Not something to be concerned about. :)

there completly harmless, there normally where hair is going to grow in. they should be pain less. they are called fordyce spots and they go away in time but even if they dont they are harmless

From what you have said, I think I know what you mean.
They are called "fordyces spots", and most people get them. Whilst they look pretty bad, they arent anything really and have NO HEALTH effects WHAT SO EVER.
Theres no treatment for them, and they come and go of their own accord. I think something lioke 75% of males have got them or will get them, so its nothing to be concerned about.
The spots themselves are swollen oil glands, i think...and whatever you do, DO NOT pop them!!! Thats not good, every website you go on, they tell you that.
Try wikipedia.org and typing it in, as youll get more links and stuff there

on the topics of bumps i have one at the base of the shaft that was a zit once (idk how often u get those) but i poped it like a normal one but ive had a bumb that has never left since and the skin on the outside looks scarish idk if its a problem or just a scar

p.s. i do have pubes so i dont think its fordyces spots

Probably just a scar, yeah. The truth is, your penis skin is not much different from any other skin. There could be hair follicles, by the way. Toward the middle of puberty, hair spreads out a bit more, especially to your thighs. A few of those could sneak on to your shaft.

More can always grow, and they can also be subcutaneous glands.

I've never heard of "small skin bumps at the penis base" being anything even slightly bad. :)

To the best of my knowledge, fordyces spots ARE NOT where hair grows out of, as they can extend right up the shaft of the penis. I think they are oil glands, but Im not 100% sure. Wikipedia it, I would suggest, as they have decent sites and links.

Nope. The ones on your scrotum (ball sac) are probably hair follicles, and hair will probably grow out of them in a few months/years. The ones on your penis could also be hair follicles, but some could be Fordyce's spots. Fordyce's spots are basically little patches of fat in the skin. They're completely normal and almost every guy has them. Don't pop them - just let them be. If you really want to get rid of them, there's an expensive laser treatment you could do, but doctors advise against any treatment.

There's also a possibility you could have a pimple down there if it becomes inflamed. Just pop it, clean it off and go about your day.
If you have warts down there, you probably need to go see a doc as you could have an STI/STD.


seriously guys, I respect that you do have questions, but be sure to read the stickies and the announcements, because I've been here for about two years and I've seen a lot of questions in this forum, and most of them are answered in either the stickies or the announcements.

If they sort of look like little white heads, I have the same things, and I was worried for a while too. If you notice they are probably on your ball sack too....


These are nothing more than hair roots, it is a common thing some people will get from puberty when they start getting pubes. Some times they will go away after puberty is at its final reach, and other times they won't.


I can assure you that they are nothing to get worried about, if you must, go talk to your doctor when you get your next physical...
