Peter Capaldi as the new Doctor

What you guys think about Peter Capaldi being the new Doctor? And what you think about Steven Moffat era in Doctor Who? I think this will be the last year for him.

I think Steven Moffat has gone a little over his head with some things. I didn't like Matt Smith's seasons. Capaldi will be his last project.
Tennant did a fantastic job. He's my favorite modern doctor.

I think Peter Capaldi will make a great Doctor, actually! I'll just really miss Matt's energy :(

I want Moffat to stay forever. His episodes are the worst! ...and I love them.

I dunno, Steven has made it clear that when he feels no where near done with this chapter of his life.

As for Capaldi, I'm going to give him a fair chance. I really am. But, I'm not going to say I wasn't a tad disappointed.

As always I'll be cautious. It seems to be in the "regeneration cycle" that you miss the old doc & hate the new, grow used to the new, love the actor, then get upset when they go, an the whole process again. It's one of the joys of the Doctor - each new actor will take the character in a new direction. I'm sure Peter will have his own good and bad points.

Moffat better start grovelling to Davies, begging him to come back. That or have Davies write part time and give the other part to Neil Gaiman. I know he's probably too busy to write the whole thing, although that would be the best thing to happen in the history of television if Neil Gaiman became the writer for Doctor Who.

Don't get me wrong, Moffat's done some good stuff. It's just that they're single roses in a field of dandelions, and the seasons are increasingly getting worse.

Anyway. I am so fucking excited for Capaldi. I'll admit, I was a little scared that Matt would set the standard for future doctors. The fangirls will demand young eye candy and we'll get fucking Rob Pattinson. I'm so glad Matt hasn't locked them into a 20-something doctor mindset, cause Peter will make a great doctor. I only hope his doctor has the temperament of Sid's dad in Skins. That would be gold.

Don't get my hopes up. I'm gonna be so crushed when she leaves, if she hasn't already done her last. I'm really not into all these young girls. We need at least a 30 year-old companion. I know I'm younger than her, but Karen's a baby. And I don't find Jenna attractive, although she is pretty. Alex is... :wub:

I agree though, while I think Matt worked well with Alex, I think Peter would work even better with her.

I was kind of shipping a Doctor/Clara romance, so I'm not happy about him being older, it kind of shoots down that theory.

But, I'm getting more optimistic about Peter. I'm excited for his chapter.

i know she can't leave shes just way to good for the doctor she makes him smile and think if they have a kid they'd be new time lord hybrids

Think Capaldi is a gud choice as it brings a whole new direction to the show cos he is so much older.

I really liked David Tennants doctor but when Moffat took over as writer I stopped watching. I thought it would've been much better since he wrote the empty child episode in Ecclestone's series which I thought was really good. Since Peters abit older i think it'll have to be different because I can't imagine Capaldis Doctor acting like Smiths so i hope its more like when David Tennant was doctor :) So yeah, when i heard he was the new doctor i was happy.
